A Rant About Recruiters

Hey Chris, I saw your profile on LinkedIn and was wondering if you'd be interested in this position that has nothing to do with what your profile said you were interested in?

Ok whut no i don't want to work as a manager at raybans in ca?

OK - The only sentence on my profile says "I am looking for programming work using C# in Unity outside of St.Louis". Being the only sentence, it's pretty hard to be misinformed about what I am after. It is especially hard to be misinformed when directly under that sentence is:

A. Link to downloadable resume B. Link to this website

*Dies*

Recruiter results after 3 months on LinkedIn

  • 41 total messages from recruiters

  • 2 messages that I was interested in. I messaged back both and they never responded.

  • 0 interviews/jobs.

So for 39 of these messages I just hit copy paste on a prewritten "Hello, Thanks for getting in touch. At this time I am looking for work in Unity using C# outside of St. Louis. Best, Chris. www.christopherstahle.com".

Recruiter results after 3 months on other sites18 total messages from recruiters

  • 21 total messages from recruiters

  • 0 messages I was interested in.

  • 0 interviews/jobs

Personal results after 3 months on other sites10 total messages sent from me to place I want to work

  • 10 total messages sent back

  • 9 declines.

  • 1 interviews => waiting to hear a yes or no if I get the job.

Conclusion

I am basically just pretty bored right now and thought about how much Linkedin doesn't work for what it says it does - getting a job.
